The Completion of the Gallery Brochure 2012

by Hannah Waugh on Monday, January 30th, 2012 at 6:22 pm
The White Room has just successfully completed the new 2012 catalogue for experts in home décor, www.gallerydirect.co.uk. Tasked for the consecutive year to create inspiring photography, design and produce the new catalogue, the 200-page brochure showcases Gallery’s impressive product range of diverse mirrors, unique wall art, essentials, furniture and accessories. New to the catalogue this year is the Furniture and Accessories section, which has been styled to blend seamlessly with all existing Gallery sections. This year, our design team have brought the catalogue up to date and created an on-trend brochure that reflects 2012 stylish living and the quality of Gallery’s collections. With an exceptional eye to detail and instinctively knowing what will work, The White Room have produced a catalogue that is creative, flows beautifully and is effective in encouraging retailers to purchase Gallery’s products.
Over 280 separate new lifestyle images were shot in our own photo studio house located on the ground floor of our four-storey property, which allows our team to create outstanding results without restrictions. The White Room’s photography division was presented with a selection of new product samples for 2012. From this, our team developed an overall interiors theme and colour direction for the catalogue to complement Gallery’s overall range. Up and coming predicted colour trends for the forthcoming year were analysed, which resulted in an on-trend, restrained colour palette that reflects the consumers move away from over the top design towards a more pared-down, softer style. Working with the client to understand their products, inspirational mood boards with carefully selected wallpapers and accessories were produced and presented to the client to give an insight into the photography direction.
Our own in-house photographic studio offers a sufficient amount of flexible space for 5 to 6 individual mini room sets to be on display and decorated at one time. With minimal set building required, this is a cost effective solution that allows clients great flexibility with the range of shots created, as well as in relation to sequencing photography as products arrive from the manufacturers for an efficient result.

Marilyn Monroe Wallpaper Steals the Show

by Hannah Waugh on Thursday, January 12th, 2012 at 11:11 am

Since the British blockbuster ‘My Week with Marilyn’ hit cinema screens back in November 2011, it’s no wonder that the iconic Marilyn Monroe has been hugely popular amongst the homes and interiors media too. And as wallpaper continues to transcend with its revival, we’re thrilled that our PR client, wallpaper company Galerie, decided to create a wallpaper that consists of iconic photographic images of the Hollywood movie star, which has resulted in fantastic coverage across various interiors publications and online too.

With a simple yet effective PR activity that entailed the creation of an inspirational press release featuring a stylish lifestyle image, our PR division was able to successfully capture a cross section of press attention. Having featured within printed titles and online such as Real Homes, Ideal Home, Irelands Homes Interior & Living, Room Envy (25 Beautiful Homes Blog) and UKTVLoveHome.co.uk with more scheduled inclusions to come, it just goes to show that inspiring photography is a must-have for PR success and maximum exposure. Combine this with the strong relationships that our PR division has with journalists from a range of print, broadcast and online titles and it’s proven that the simplest of PR activities can be just as successful.
